Because just one wasn’t enough
The car steals the show wherever it goes. Everyone wants their picture with it. It gets even better, it drives! At one end you have headlights, the other end has headlights too but they are converted to function as taillights. If someone handed you the keys you wouldn’t know which end to get in to drive. Inside there are complete matching dashboards, steering wheels, pedals, and even keys hanging in each ignition.
It was built in the 1960s by the Bismarck State College auto body department. Boy, that must have been a fun place to work. They cut two complete 1957 Fords in half and welded the front ends together. They used the car in parades and shows to promote their school’s innovative shop department. Sign me up for that class. Then the car was parked and disappeared for years. It disappeared from the public for a long time until a man in Connecticut bought the car and restored the body, and paint and rebuilt the mechanics. Its proud owner now is the Klaimont Kollection in Chicago.
RELATED Spot: Another one-of-one from the Klairmont Kollection.
What is it worth now? Well, the better question would be what would you be willing to pay for such a creation? Everything’s for sale. Money talks. You could be the center of attention at any Cars and Coffee Event.
Thanks for stopping by and reading about my latest spot. While I have plenty of other spots, nothing as strange as this. Go check them out and come back next Friday for another one of my spots along with some of its history. Have a great weekend.
